When Do Patients Need a Televisit Scheduled?

Regular check-ins with a healthcare provider remain essential to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. Understanding when a televisit is required helps maintain compliance with medical guidelines and ensures optimal treatment outcomes.

Televisit Requirements for Medications

1. Testosterone & Tirzepatide – Annual Televisit Required
Patients prescribed Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) or Tirzepatide (used for weight loss and diabetes management) must schedule a televisit once per year (every 12 months).

Why is an Annual Televisit Necessary?

  • Testosterone Monitoring:

    • Regular blood work is needed to check testosterone levels, estradiol, hematocrit, and prostate markers (PSA).
    • Ensures appropriate dosing and helps mitigate potential risks, such as polycythemia or estrogen imbalance.
  • Tirzepatide Monitoring:

    • Regular assessment of glucose levels, metabolic health, and weight changes.
    • Prevents complications such as severe nausea, malnutrition, or excessive weight loss.

2. Peptides & Other Medications – Televisit Every 18 Months
For patients using peptides and other medications, a televisit is required every 18 months to ensure continued safety and efficacy.

Why is an 18-Month Televisit Necessary?

  • Peptides, such as CJC/Ipamorelin, BPC-157, Sermorelin, Tesamorelin, and MK-677, impact hormonal balance, tissue repair, and metabolism.
  • Regular evaluations ensure these treatments remain beneficial and free from side effects.
  • Other medications, including Metformin, DHEA, NAD, and Glutathione, require periodic check-ins to assess ongoing needs and adjustments.

How to Schedule a Televisit

  • Check the last televist date in Hubspot
  • Schedule an ROS in advance to avoid gaps in prescription access.
  • Prepare for the visit by having recent lab results, medication history, and any concerns ready to discuss.

By following these guidelines, patients can maintain their treatment plans effectively while ensuring their health remains a top priority.
